Job Summary
The project is a school based project
in Basic Program of Oral Care, and includes education and supervision of oral
health in 3 districts of Rwanda. We are seeking to hire a qualified, dedicated
and experienced Dental Therapists to fill a position, as BPOC field worker. The
BPOC Field worker is responsible for the performances, quality and
cost-effectiveness of the BPOC-project in Nyamagabe/Gicumbi. The BPOC
Fieldworker will be responsible for the implementation, monitoring, evaluation
and reporting of the project to SOS Rwanda and Dental health without borders
(TUG).

Fieldworker will be responsible for the implementation, monitoring, evaluation
and reporting of the project to SOS Rwanda and Dental health without borders
(TUG).
Responsibilities included, not limited
to:

- Conduct
basic community orientation about dental health for teachers, principals,
PTA members and parents, in order to establish a connection with the
community. - Collecting
baseline data and evaluation data. - Implement
the BPOC project at project schools and empower, motivate and support
teachers, as well as the schoolchildren, in the daily activities. - Establishment
and construction of BPOC facilities on schools. Ensure and organize
regular cleaning of material and facilities. - Support
and supervise daily tooth brushing and hand washing at project schools. - Collecting
attendance protocols and school test results. - Monitoring
compliance among teachers and children. - Writing
monthly reports. - Facilitate
local advocacy activities in cooperation with SOS RW and TUG.
Qualifications
- Bachelors
Degree of Dental Therapy (with a council registration number) - Be
a mature person, trustworthy and relievable. - High
command of the English language both oral and written is required. - Also
fluency in Kinyarwanda and French are an added advantage. - Must
be computer literate. - Be
able to collect and produce systematic monitoring data and reports. - Work
experience, with school based and/or family based health promotion on a
community level. - Interested
in oral health education - Ability
to work under deadline pressure and changing priorities - Ability
to solve problems creatively in order to meet projects goals and
objectives
The ideal candidate will be able to
“learn by doing” in a fast pace. Good in planning an effective work
schedule. He/She will be outcome oriented, able to manage multiple priorities
at a time and keep the project moving forward with minimal day to day supervision.
