World Food Programme, Web User Experience (UX) Research Analyst Job Vacancy in Tanzania

The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is the world’s largest
humanitarian agency, fighting hunger worldwide. We are seeking to fill a
local consultancy position of Web User Experience Research Analyst, based
at our Headquarters in Rome, Italy for a contract period of 6 months, with
possibility of extension up to 11 months.

Reporting to the Web Technology Lead, the Web User Experience Research
Analyst will be responsible for the following key duties:
Research
· Design and conduct u

ser research from start to finish, including
usability studies, and usability inspections (heuristic evaluations or
cognitive walkthroughs), identifying key questions and business goals;
· Plan, schedule and facilitate smooth-running user studies, interviews,
and other related interactions with customers and users in support of
projects;
· Identify and facilitate the implementation of user behaviour tracking
best practices to ensure user interactions are quantitatively measured.
Deliver findings
· Prepare research findings deliverables such as reports and presentations,
as appropriate for each project, to effectively communicate research
insights;
· Produce briefs, user requirements, personas, storyboards, prototypes,
wireframes, and functional and design specifications.
Support brand building efforts through holistic user experiences
· Identify supporting data, determine insights, and develop recommendations
to optimise the user experience (including advice on Information
Architecture and Taxonomy);
· Ensure findings result in product design improvements, changed product
priorities, and roadmap enhancements;
· Champion and advocate the needs and limitations of end users, to ensure
WFP’s web presence takes them into account;
· Partner closely with interaction designers and visual designers to
jointly propose and present design improvement recommendations;
· Help manage the interaction design process, drive decisions, and track
issues;
· Provide quality assurance and quality control, following-up on matters
till they are successfully resolved;
· Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications & Experience Required
Education:
· University degree (or equivalent working experience), preferably at the
advanced level, in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) or related fields.
Experience:
· At least 2 years of experience in conducting user experience research
using a wide variety of research methods;
· Proven experience delivering findings, producing briefs, and preparing
reports;
· Experience gathering user and business data to inform and quantify a UX
strategy;
· Experience working with cross-functional teams, end-users and developers;
· Experience working with high-traffic informational/transactional websites
is an advantage.
Technical Skills & Knowledge:
· Fundamental knowledge of UX best practices;
· Ability to develop creative approaches to researching complex UX problems;
· Openness to synthesise research findings from numerous data sources
(including market research and data mining our analytics platforms) into
meaningful recommendations and actionable items;
· Familiarity with a wide range of qualitative and quantitative research
methodologies such as: questionnaire development, survey research, card
sorting, think-aloud, cognitive walkthroughs, heuristics and usability
testing.
Competencies:
· Excellent written an oral communication skills and persuasiveness;
· Innovative, well-organized with ability to act independently and switch
rapidly between different projects in a fast-paced and exciting environment;
· Ability to meet deadlines and remain calm under pressure;
· Ability to work in a multicultural team environment.
Language:
· Fluency in oral and written English.
