The role
Working within the College’s Education Services
Department, the Training Support Unit oversees the Trainee in Difficulty (TID)
Policy and works collaboratively with other units in the College, Trainees,
Supervisors and Training and Education Committees to develop, implement and
monitor appropriate support and/or remediation strategies for trainees in
difficulty who are referred to the Training Support unit. Your responsibilities

will include:

  • Advising stakeholders about procedural
    fairness, the TID policy and process and support and remediation
    strategies to address the difficulties
  • Attend IRTs, record proceedings, and write the
    draft report and recommendations
  • Oversee the review of the draft report by
    relevant parties, sign off by the IRT Panel and handover to the relevant
    training committee
The successful candidate
To succeed in this role you will pride yourself on
your diligence in ensuring that all aspects of procedural fairness are
maintained. Along with a relevant higher education qualification and/or
equivalent experience you will possess:
  • Significant experience managing performance or
    remediation processes
  • Initiative and problem solving skills
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong
    collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  •  High level written and oral
    communication skills including providing advice about complex issues,
    taking minutes and writing complex reports
An understanding of Summative and Formative
Assessments would be an advantage.
