focused on food security and nutrition, health, household economic
strengthening, and capacity building.
CHF International is
seeking a Team Leader, for the Technical and Vocational Education Training Unit
who will oversee the organization’s holistic approach to youth economic
strengthening through career counseling, technical and vocational training, and
life skills development under the USAID/Higa Ubeho program. This includes
working closely with a range of stakeholders to identify suitable study
programs and internships for up to 3000 program beneficiaries each year, with
the goal of helping youth to choose market-linked trades and to develop
knowledge, skills, and confidence to enter the workforce.
Position
description
Job Title: Team Leader, Technical and
Vocational Training
The Team Leader will
specifically be responsible for the following;
- Coordinate
the development and implementation of the program’s TVET strategy and
detailed work plans. This includes collaborating with a wide range
of stakeholders to promote synergies with other relevant programs/services
and to align with national policies and priorities - Support
the development of guidelines, and tools to support the program’s holistic
approach to TVET. - Support
the collection, analysis and management of data/knowledge to track student
progress and to provide recommendations for ongoing improvements.
This includes periodic assessments, analysis of partner reports and
providing regular and timely feedback. - Supervise
and mentor the staff and partners to adopt promising practices in
youth-based programming. - Assist
in the development of all program reports. - Assist
CHF Finance & Administration towards meeting fiduciary
responsibilities including monthly drawdown and financial reports. - Represent
CHF International in technical meetings and other forums as requested.
Given the nature of
the work, and consistent with all CHF staff, the Team Leader will be expected
to be flexible and may be asked to carry out duties, which are not specifically
listed above. The job description may be revised after discussion between
the staff member and the organization.
Minimum
qualifications:
- Masters
degree in Education - Demonstrated
knowledge of and experience in educational policy studies – knowledge of
TVET is an asset. - Minimum
4years professional experience, - Experience
with USAID-funded programs. - Demonstrated
capacity to manage and lead a team. - Excellent
writing and communication abilities. - Advanced
computer skills – MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook. - Fluency
in English and Kinyarwanda; French fluency a plus.
