Use your previous experience facilitating training and workshops to raise awareness of women and children’s rights in Vanuatu.

As Legal Awareness Program Trainer, this crucial assignment will be working with the University of the South Pacific (USP) Community Legal Centre (CLC). The main objective of the Community Legal Centre (CLC) is to provide legal training for Pacific Island law students and legal assistant for residents of Vanuatu who cannot afford a private solicitor.

The main objectives of this role are to:
1. Conduct workshops in rural areas of Vanuatu for the purposes of educating ni-Vans on their legal rights, particularly in relation to the new Family Protection Act.
2. To coach and mentor the local counterpart to increase skills in the area of facilitating training workshops

To be considered for this two year assignment you will have a proven track record in facilitating training and workshops to an adult audience as well as some experience in community development. Experience in a legal environment would be an advantage.

You will be based in Port Vila for the duration of this two year assignment, with travel required to rural areas. Port Vila, with its beautiful harbour, and bountiful restaurants, is well known as a tourist destination and for its warm Melanesian hospitality.
