If your answer is yes, the Friends of Fish Creek Provincial Park Society has a job for you. Our small environmental, charitable organization is looking for an Executive Director to lead our team. This position comes with a benefit most other organizations will not be able to match. You get to work in one of Calgary’s most beloved parks, surrounded by wildlife and native vegetation. Our office is located in southeast Calgary in the Bow Valley Ranch area of Fish Creek Park.

The Executive Director is a critical link between the organization, its stakeholders, volunteers, and government officials, and contributes to the overall success of the organization. The individual we are seeking will exhibit strong initiative, excellent organization skills and the ability to multi-task.

The Successful Candidate will have the following attributes:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a senior role within the not-for-profit charitable sector.
• Excellent skills in fund development, board governance, member recruitment and retention, financial management and office administration.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and solid presentation skills.
• Experience supervising a small staff.
• Well developed, organizational, time management, public relations, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Some experience with Simply Accounting is desirable.
• Able to work independently, be flexible, innovative, self motivated, diplomatic and a problem solver. Some evening and weekend work required.
• Any of the following would be an asset: diploma or degree in non-profit management;
CAE (Certificated Association Executive) or CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive);
a university degree in Biology, Ecology, Zoology or a related field.
