OpenConcept Consulting, a young, dynamic, fast-growing Ottawa software company, is expanding and needs another web developer to join our ranks. Join our high-energy team and play an important role in helping our company move to the next level.
Key skills for this position include:
• Drupal Development: Setting up Drupal installs, installing/configuring modules, adding users, setting permissions, creating menus, blocks, nodes, taxonomies, pages, content types, and views;
• Drupal Theming: Minor design, implementing professional design, Cascading Style Sheet (CSS)implementation;
• Programming: Custom Javascript and PHP;
• Databases: Interacting with MySQL;
• Version Control: Experience using Git or Subversion;
• Business development: Helping to estimate hours for proposals;
• Project Management: Prompt, effective and friendly communication with clients;
• All web developers report to the Project Manager.
The successful candidate for the position will be offered a competitive compensation package including participation in our employee-directed group health plan. This is a full-time position. Our standard work week is 37½ hours. We are located in Westboro, a short walk to the Westboro Transitway Station. While we welcome applications from candidates outside the Ottawa region, there is no relocation allowance provided for this position and there is no opportunity for telecommuting.
To be considered for the Web Developer position, applicants must have two years of commercial web development experience, have demonstrated mastery with PHP and MySQL and have worked with other open source software. Experience with Drupal and CiviCRM would be considered an asset. Applicants must demonstrate superior written and verbal communication skills. Applicants must have demonstrated proficiency working within a PHP Content Management System and know how to investigate and resolve problems efficiently.
