Job Description:
As a member of the Solution and Interoperability team, the engineer will be installing, setting up and configuring company products to integrate with 3rd party products. These requests will be driven by external DevConnect members. This role involves up-skilling on Avaya product suite to integrate these with DevConnect products to form different solutions. 80% of the time of this position will be hands-on integration/configuration of systems within a lab environment. In the remaining time, the engineer writes Application Notes, to be used by installers and customers, which detail how the solution was configured in the lab environment. This serves as a benchmark for field installations. The engineer will also be required to interface directly with Avaya customers when field issues are escalated to DevConnect, and work with Avaya Tier3/4 engineers to troubleshoot and reproduce the customer’s problem until a resolution is found. The engineer will also be responsible for working in parallel on multiple projects that are in various phases of the testing cycle

Practical hands-on experience with enterprise voice and data products. The candidate should have a solid foundation in IP telephony and data networking, including IP PBX’s, CTI, IP Switching & Routing, ISDN, and VoIP (H.323/SIP).

Qualifications:
• Must have hands on experience configuring Avaya products.
• In depth knowledge of VoIP and TDM protocols, including SIP, H.323, H.248, ISDN.
• Data networking expertise, with the ability to configure switches, routers, firewalls, vpn appliances, and wireless access points.
• Experience configuring the following Linux services on CentOS/Redhat: BIND, FTP, OpenSSL, NFS and PAM.
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communications in English.
• Bachelors degree, or experience equivalent with minimum of 5 years (8+ desired) with solid experience using debug tool, protocol analysis test tools, etc..
