Accounting Clerk/Marketing Coordinator Job Vacancy in Canada

Wildlife Habitat Canada (WHC) is a national, non-profit, charitable conservation organization with a focus on wetlands and waterfowl. We are currently seeking two motivated students to fill the positions of Accounting Clerk and Marketing Coordinator.

Requirements:
This position is being advertised through funding under the Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) initiative. To be eligible for this position, you must be between 15 and 30 years of age on the start date of the job. You also must have been a full-time student during the previous academic year and be intending to return to full-time studies in the next academic year. You also must be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident or a refugee under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.

Terms of Employment: 8 weeks, Temporary, Full Time, Day
Salary: $10.25 hourly for 30 hours a week
Anticipated Start Date: May 30, 2011
Location: Kanata, Ontario (2 vacancies)

Tasks:
As a small organization, WHC staff work on many varied projects, and tasks and responsibilities change on a day to day basis.

Our work largely fits into three categories:
1. Stamp & Print Program — marketing and distributing our Stamp & Print products
2. Accounting — posting accounts payable/receivable and other related duties
3. Administration — general day to day activities and office management

Successful applicants will have the opportunity to work within all three of these areas as well as within the areas of communication, promotions, web design, event planning, research, and data management.

Qualifications and Skills:
– Bilingual — French/English – Experience with translation would be an asset
– Computer Skills and Tech experience (familiar with Microsoft Office Suite, knowledge of web design/management would be beneficial)
– Attention to detail
– A demonstrated ability to organize work, set priorities, meet deadlines and work under pressure of time constraints
– Analytical and problem solving skills
– Interest in the environment/wildlife
– Strong verbal and written skills, including accuracy, proofreading, and ability to write clear communications materials for public distribution.
– Basic administrative experience
– Experience in the non-profit or government sector would be beneficial
