Jhpiego, an affiliate of Johns Hopkins University, is an international NGO supporting health programs to improve the health of women and their families.

Jhpiego – Kenya works in close collaboration with both the Ministry of Medical Services and the Ministry of Public Health and Sanitation in the areas of HIV, Malaria, TB, Maternal, Newborn and Child Health, Reproductive Health and Family Planning.

We are currently recruiting experienced individuals with excellent tecimical skills, who are team players, dedicated, hardworking, innovative, highly motivated and able to work on a high pressure environment requiring multi-tasking abilities.

Deputy Director, Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E)

Reporting to Director, M&E, the Deputy Director will assist in the management of monitoring and evaluation services for Jhpiego’s Kenya programs. S/he will maintain, and implement as necessary, all statistical systems within the Jhpiego Kenya office. S/he will assure the effective performance of Jhpiego/Kenya’s monitoring and evaluation activities.

Responsibilities:
• Lead country compliance with Jhpiego policies, procedures and systems of human subject research
• Manage the effective implementation and utilization of Jhpiego’s JRISE and TIMS databases to ensure accurate program monitoring and reporting
• Provide supervision, guidance and mentorship of M&E staff and ensure team spirit
• Provide statistical technical advice to all Jhpiego programs as requested
• Assist program staff to develop M&E plans, frameworks, logic models and PMP tables
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and/or annual reports
• Represent Jhpiego in high level meetings with partners, professional bodies and at conferences

Required Qualifications:
• A PhD or DPH in Statistics, Demography, Public Health or equivalent
• 10 years of experience in research and evaluation with at least 3 years in a senior position in a reputable NGO or development agency
• 3 years of experience in monitoring large health projects
• Strong research, analytic and writing skills
• Ability to communicate and to confidently engage with high ranking government and donor partners
• Conversant with USAID guidelines/regulations
• Computer literacy, particularly a working knowledge of SPSS, ACCESS, EXCEL

Senior Administration Manager

Reporting to the Finance & Administration Director, the Senior Administration Manager will provide leadership in administrative services for effective support to Jhpiego Kenya programs.

S/he will develop and manage effective systems for security, procurement, ICT, physical facilities, stores, assets and transport management to ensure the integrity, effectiveness and proper functioning of Jhpiego offices.

Responsibilities:
• Provide leadership for all office administrative functions
• Establish administrative systems, standard operation procedures and provide guidance on implementation for smooth office operations
• Review policies, procedures and systems for effective internal controls, cost control and compliance to policies and applicable laws
• Innovate on systems to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the administrative operations
• Oversee local and international travel, procurement, shipments and safe custody of assets
• Review and advice on administrative matters including leases, statutory requirements and contracts with third parties
• Advise senior management on all administrative matters
• Mentor, motivate and supervise administrative staff

Required Qualifications
• Must have MBA degree or equivalent
• Minimum of 10 years experience in managing administration functions with at least 5 years in a senior position with a reputable NGO or development agency
• Ability to communicate and to confidently engage with senior management
• Trustworthy and track record of impeccable integrity
• Experienced in managing teams and supervising multi-cultural staff
• Excellent organizational skills including the ability to multitask even under pressure of deadlines
• Excellent interpersonal skills and with pleasant and outgoing personality
• Computer literacy, particularly working knowledge of MS office.

Procurement Manager

Reporting to Senior Administration Manager, the Procurement Manager will provide procurement support to Jhpiego Kenya country office.

S/he will develop and implement procurement operational systems for effective functioning of the procurement section.

The Procurement Manager will liaise with local vendors and the Jhpiego’s US office for procurement of goods and services while adhering to Jhpiego’s policies and donor requirements.

Responsibilities:
• Provide management leadership in the procurement function for the organization
• Develop, establish and implement standard procurement operational systems as per Jhpiego policies and industry standards
• Regular review and update of procurement system for optimal functioning of the procurement section
• Ensure timely procurement and provide regular updates to users on the status of their request
• Coordinate with program managers the procurement projections for smooth running of the projects
• Periodically review the list of common goods and services and maintain/update list of preferred vendors
• Lead in the evaluation, appraisal and selection of suppliers/vendors
• In collaboration with Finance/Contracts offices, negotiate and maintain contracts with regular suppliers

Required Qualifications
• University degree in and post graduate diploma in Supply Chain management or a related field
• MBA rill be an added advantage
• Minimum 5 years working experience of which two years should be in a similar or senior position
• Must be a member of a procurement professional body (CIPS, KISM, etc.)
• Excellent computer skills in MS Office and in Supply Chain computer systems
• Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Kiswahili.

Stores Manager

Reporting to the Senior Administration Manager, the Stores Manager will be responsible for Jhpiego stores which contain reference manuals, books, journals, training materials, humanistic models and office supplies.

S/he will establish the optimal stock levels and initiate replenishment for the stores items. S/he will ensure proper functioning and utilization of stores manual and electronic systems and roll out the systems to other Jhpiego field offices.

Responsibilities
• Provide management of the Stores function for the organization
• Identify gaps in current system; suggest and implemented improvement to the system
• Oversees the maintenance of the Jhpiego Inventory Management System and ensures that all materials are properly stored and accurately accounted for
• Generating purchase requests, verify and receive all items ordered as per the LPO specifications
• Ensure that the store is orderly arranged, items well labeled and kept clean and safe
• Ensure stores security and proper usage of loaner materials and ensure materials loaned out are returned in good condition
• Coordinate the physical inventory of all Nairobi & field offices assets on a semi-annual basis and update the asset register regularly

Required Qualifications
• University degree and post graduate diploma in stores management or related field
• Minimum 5 years experience in a similar position
• Experience working in a busy office within the private sector especially with an international organization
• Store keeping and asset management experience
• Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Kiswahili.
• Proficient in the use of Inventory Management Systems and Microsoft Office
• Knowledge in QuickBooks will be an added advantage
