Group Operations Manager Job Vacancy in Rwanda

A holding company with 10 subsidiary companies operating in Rwanda and abroad is looking for a high calibre candidate for the position of Group Operations Manager.
The company is looking for experienced, self-motivated and a hardworking manager who should be able to work with minimum supervision. An attractive remuneration package is available based on experience, and potential contribution to the group.

Position: Group Operations Manager
Reporting to the Group Chief Executive Officer

The ideal candidate should be experienced in Financial Management, business processes and organizational planning and should be able to work independently with no supervision. This person must have strong leadership skills and well organized, flexible and embrace the challenge of managing a big group of diverse people and businesses. Background in working in an
investment or holding company will be helpful.

The ability to interact with staff (at all levels) in a fast paced environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient, with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality is crucial to this role. Expert level written and verbal communication skills, strong decision making ability and attention to detail are equally important.

The candidate must have
• Bachelors Degree in business administration or any related field, a Masters degree is added advantage,
• Managerial level with a group of companies or department with at least 5 years in financial and operational management of businesses.
• Excellent computer skills and proficient in excel, word, outlook, and access
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing staff groups and major projects or initiatives.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style.
• Budget development and oversight experience

Key responsibilities include:
• Overall operational management and control which entails monitoring and in some cases direct involvement in the operations of companies, participation in designing of policies and procedures and ensuring effectiveness thereof.
• Improve the operational systems, processes and policies in support of organizations mission — specifically, support better management reporting, information flow and management, business process and organizational planning.
• Manage and increase the effectiveness and efficiency of Support Services (HR, IT and Finance), through improvements to each function as well as coordination and communication between support and business functions.
• Play a significant role in long-term planning, including an initiative geared toward operational excellence.
• Work with General Managers and Finance Managers to ensure timely submission and presentation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial/operational reports to the holding Company
• Assist in project development and management; planning, costing, implementation and monitoring of all new and existing projects
• Ensure market competitiveness of the Group Portfolio companies’ products and services through adherence to quality and compliance with tax, environmental and industry regulations.
• Participate in overall operational management, planning, systems and controls.
• Any other duties as directed by the Group CEO.
• Languages – Must be fluent in English, working knowledge in Swahili is an added advantage but not a requirement.
