District Clinical Director Job Vacancy in Rwanda at IMB/PIH

Overall Responsibilities:

PIH/IMB has worked in Rwanda since 2005, partnering with the Rwandan government and Clinton Health Access Initiative to strengthen primary health systems in three rural districts. The IMB District Clinical Directors fDCD1 will be an integral member of the IMB cross-site clinical and district-based leadership teams. On a cross-sites level, the DCD will lead and support a cluster of clinical programs across all three districts. Leadership of these cross-sites programs include working with each IMB clinical program manager to set strategic goals, develop work-plans, establish clear metrics, and provide feedback and support where necessary to achieve each program’s goals.

On the district level, the DCD will work closely with the IMB District Project Manager PPM] to accompany our government partners at the district level – including the District Health Unit, Hospital Medical Director, and Health Center Titulaires – in executing shared clinical priorities. The DCD will lead the implementation of all IMB clinical programs at each level of the district’s health sector: community, health center, hospital and district health leadership.

As an IMB clinical leader, the DCD will be a member of Executive Committee and help set organizational policies and priorities, help the leadership team set the overall strategy of the organization, liaise between PIH Rwanda and Boston headquarters as needed, meet and communicate with donors; and represent IMB to government and other partners in the district and central government, particularly on issues related to the medical programs they oversee across IMB.

The successful candidate will be highly self-motivated, organized, very responsive and diplomatic. S/he will provide mentorship as appropriate for clinical program managers and partners in the Ministry of Health at all levels, build and maintain relationships with our partners, and continue to push our definition of success.

Requirements:
• Medical doctor with at least 2 years of post-graduate clinical experience
• Kinyarwanda, English and French proficiency required
• Ability to work independently and take initiative, work cooperatively with a diverse team, and commitment to learning and Improving finance and managerial skills
• Highly responsive via e-mail and phone
• Strong communication, writing and presentation skills
• Proven ability to exercise good judgment and diplomacy
• Ability to work Independently, handle multiple assignments, prioritize work flow, and meet deadlines.
• Computer skills in word processing and spreadsheet programs including Microsoft Office Excel and PowerPoint
• Proven commitment to social justice
