Three tips to spot fake human hair online

Many of us get carried away by some fake human hair photoshop disguised as 100% genuine human hair.

Early this June, a video went viral from a hair seller who supposedly “brutalized” a client who complained that they did not get what they ordered.

The client ordered online for human hair and supplied something else other than what she saw on the Instagram handle of the vendor.

The hair has been purchased for N75,000.

Whether the so-called hair is Indian, Brazilian or Peruvian, a full human hair is an investment. It’s pretty expensive and can’t be felt online .

You can’t be too clever about this meanwhile.

However, you should take some precautionary measures before pressing the button to order.

1. Check prior buyer’s feedback or remarks

This highlights the good, the bad, and the ugly. Whether you’re shopping from a well-known online store or shopping on social media from an person or brand, it’s essential that you go through their reviews or comments box.

You can’t see a comment or review like “I ordered this human hair and was delivered something else” and still go ahead to purchase the product.

While this may not be hundred percent precise, as some may be doctored or false, it will offer you some amount of consciousness of the authenticity of what you plan to purchase.

You might do well to look beyond the reviews and remarks by going to the physical shop to see it for yourself if you’re still not sure about the hair quality. This will also assist to see if the hair is mixed with fiber or synthetic hair.

2. The cost is all too nice to be true

There is something incorrect if the hair quality appears fairly greater than the cost, even if the vendor offers a bonanza or unique offer, chances are that the most expensive is original. Do not, however, be carried away by this. Pay attention to detail.

3. After delivery

This is when you carry out the last test on the hair. At the point of delivery, you should feel the hair texture unless otherwise you are not buying a human hair.

Ensure to check the wefts and ends. Note that human hair is not overly shiny and coarse.

This is the last resort. Do this only when you are in doubt. Note that after carrying out any of this test you may not be able to return it.

The burn test is done by cutting one or two stands of the hair and burning it. If it smells like rubber, it is undoubtedly not human, however, if it is smells like burning hair, then it is.

The bleach test for human hair shows fast result, however, this is different for synthetic hair.

Lastly, when a human hair, especially waves undergoes the wet test, it will automatically bounce to its natural state.
