President Muhammadu Buhari has selected Senate President Ahmed Lawan as the Federal Delegation Leader for the 2019 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) Finals in Egypt.
The delegation also includes Femi Gbajabiamila, Speaker of the House of Representatives, and Boss Mustapha, Secretary of the Federation’s Government.
Governors Ifeanyi Okowa and Babajide Sanwo-Olu, respectively from Delta and Lagos, will be part of the delegation in equal amounts.
There are also the governor of Nigeria’s Central Bank (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, president of the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC), Habu Gumel, and a Representative of the Presidency; Captain Hosa Okunbo.
Also members of the delegation are the Permanent Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports, Olusade Adesola, and Muhammad Gambo, the Facilities Director of the Ministry.
Solomon Dalung, a former Youth and Sports Minister, completes the list of 11 men.
Delegation members are anticipated to arrive next week in Egypt in time for the 16-encounter Super Eagles ‘ Round.
