Government of India has taken a new decision regarding the use of social media. From now on, children under the age of 18 will not be able to open social media accounts without parental permission. Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, has already introduced new restrictions for minors.

– No one under the age of 18 will be able to open an account on Instagram without parental consent.

Age verification will have to be done through a valid document, As a result, there will no opportunity to open an account with a fake age.

Accounts of users under the age of 16 will controlled by their parents.

According to the new rules, parents will be able to monitor certain parts of their child’s Facebook and Instagram accounts.

– They can see who their child is connecting with.

Until now, minors used to open accounts on social media at an older age. But with the new rules requiring document verification, this will no longer be possible.
