Mona Mustapha Audu, son of Abubakar Audu, the late former governor of Kogi State, has informed traditional state leaders to remain away from politics.
On Thursday in Abuja, Mr Audu, who aspires to be the next Kogi State Governor on the All Progressive Congress (APC) platform, gave the advice.
He spoke at a news conference to unveil his state blue print.
According to him, it is the state’s individuals who can decide who will become their next governor rather than the traditional rulers.
Mr Audu said that if the incumbent governor of the state had done well in office, the presidency would not need to be lobbied for his approval.
He emphasized his willingness to enhance Kogi’s people’s lot.
The election to the Kogi governorship comes up in November.
