Buhari dispels rumours about his London trip

President Muhammadu Buhari dismissed reports that his trip to London was to compile the list of people to be appointed ministers during his second term.

After a 10-day private visit to London, the president stated this on Sunday in Abuja.

Mr Buhari said he had no discussion with anyone on the issue of appointing new cabinet ministers.

The president said, “I haven’t talked to anyone. So, I don’t know how it was known to them. I didn’t talk to anyone about it. ”

In order to introduce a fresh approach in the fight against insurgency and banditry, the president acknowledged that the acting police inspector-general was doing his best to curb the threat.

“I’ve just seen the IG, I think he’s losing weight. I think he’s working very hard, ‘ he said.

The president also refused to comment on the kind of people his next cabinet would constitute.
