The
WFH is looking for an experienced and results-oriented ****Regional****
****Program Manager**** –Middle East & Africa with superior project
/program management abilities and interpersonal skills, to coordinate and
implement country and health care development programs and activities in the
Middle East and the African regions.

PRINCIPAL
RESPONSIBILITIES –
Reporting
to the Programs Director, the ****Regional Program Manager****-Middle East
& Africa
will be responsible for the development, management,
implementation and delivery of a designated portfolio of national country programs
and WFH-led international healthcare development programs and activities in the
Middle East and the African region.
As
the main representative within the region, the Regional Program Manager will
carry out the following tasks:
Assist
in defining strategic objectives and work plans for the Middle East &
Africa region;
Ensure
effective development, planning, coordination, monitoring, implementing,
reporting, and evaluation of the following programs in the Middle East and in
Africa, including:
  • country
    development programs and GAP
  • medical
    and organizational twinning partnerships
  • humanitarian
    Aid product donations
  • international
    hemophilia training fellowships
  • workshops,
    conferences and regional activities
  • skills
    training for national hemophilia organizations
  • NMO
    accreditation
  • other
    WFH-led programs as they develop in the designated region;
Facilitate
and support the work of key volunteers and WFH committees involved with the
above programs and activities, respond to queries and provide correspondence
dealing with same;
Conduct
official visits with expert volunteers to meet with senior government
officials, hospitals, blood banks and hemophilia organizations as required;
Ensure
sound administrative and financial control of budgets and planned program
activities spending in the regions, including timely production of progress
reports and other relevant documents;
Author
articles for WFH newsletter Hemophilia World on current programs and activities
in the Middle East & Africa region.
QUALIFICATIONS
& REQUIREMENTS –
  • Bachelor’s
    degree in international relations, development, public health, political
    studies, social sciences, or other relevant discipline
  • Six
    to nine (6-9) years of relevant work experience with an international
    development organization that includes at least 5 years (essential) of
    proven track record in country project/program management, and monitoring
    & evaluation of development programs in the Middle East and in Africa
  • Solid
    experience in program/project management processes and in working with
    partners in program development and delivery
  • Solid
    understanding of socio-economic conditions and international developmental
    issues of the Middle East & Africa region
  • Demonstrated
    capacity to work both in self-directed manner (autonomously) and an
    ability to collaborate with government, healthcare and/or public affairs
    officials, as well as with other staff, executives, and volunteers
  • Excellent
    diplomatic and cross-cultural skills and demonstrated experience in
    working with people from diverse cultures and countries; above-average
    abilities to build/maintain networks and working relationships with
    stakeholders and partner organizations
  • Superior
    analytical and communication (public speaking, presentations)
    capabilities, and recognized abilities for mediating/resolving issues,
    conflicts
  • Strong
    organization skills, and time management abilities in order to balance and
    prioritize multiple tasks and work simultaneously on several projects
  • Highly
    motivated, efficient and flexible individual with strong interpersonal and
    team building skills
  • Mastery
    of English as primary language of work (written and spoken); fluency in
    French and in another language (eg., Arabic) are significant assets
  • Computer
    literate, extensive experience working with Windows Microsoft Office Suite
    (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point), & Outlook, internet
  • Availability
    and flexibility to undertake regular travel within region, and at related
    international gatherings (4-6 times /year approx., 5-12 days average
    duration)
