in 2002 devoted to the promotion and improvement of social and economic welfare
of women and children in Rwanda. The mission of WIF is to transform women and
children life, by protecting their fundamental rights, promoting self-reliance,
improving their social and economic conditions and fostering their active participation
in the good management of available resources. WIF’s vision seeks to position
itself as a leading Non- Government Organization closely involved in poverty
alleviation among women and children and other vulnerable populations in
Rwanda.
In
partnership with Catholic Relief Services (CRS) and SNV Rwanda, WIF NGO
is implementing a 5 years USAID-funded Gikuriro Program an Integrated
Nutrition and WASH (INWA) activity program in Nyarugenge district
of Rwanda to promote improved outcomes in Nutrition and Water, Sanitation and
Hygiene (WASH) through targeted capacity-building and implementation of the
Government of Rwanda’s Community-based Food and Nutrition Program (CBF&NP)
and Community-based Environmental Health Promotion Program (CBEHPP). Gikuriro Program
aims at improving the nutritional status of women of reproductive age and
children under five years of age, with an emphasis on the 1,000-day window of
opportunity from pregnancy until a child’s second birthday.

- Plan
and conduct training of CHC members, CHWs, DPEM and other different target
groups in Community Based Environmental Health Promotion Program (CBEHPP)
protocoland other key hygiene topics especially to reduce malnutrition; - Ensure
that acquired knowledge are shared among served communities; - Ensure
timely data entry and data quality for WASH component activities; - In
collaboration with the Program Coordinator andM&E, analyze WASH data
and provide feedback to CHC and other stakeholders; - Ensure
there is close collaboration with other partners and NGOs involved in WASH
and health activities at the district level; - Prepare
and organize quarterly and cluster meetings with local authorities, health
centers representatives and CHCs; - Assist
the GIKURIRO Program Coordinator to develop program work plan and district
work plan in WASH activities; - Prepare
and submit data and narrative reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually)
to the WIF/ Gikuriro Program Coordinator on timely basis; - Perform
any other assignment as the need arises.
Required
qualifications and skills
qualifications and skills
- Minimum
of a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Environmental Health or related
field; - A
least 3 years of experience in implementation of Water, Sanitation and
Hygiene (WASH) projects or program usingCommunity Based Environmental
Health Promotion Program (CBEHPP) approaches; - Experience
in behavior change communication strategies in line with WASH, best
practices for sustainable hygiene and sanitation that impact in the
prevention ofdiseases and intestinal worms, particularly in young children
and women in reproductive age; - Computer
literate to a high standard in Microsoft Office, - Good
communication skills in English and Kinyarwanda.
