Wolseley Canada is looking for a communications professional that has a passion
for words and gets excited about writing creative and compelling copy. The
successful candidate will be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously,
have excellent attention to detail and us

e his/her written communication skills
to connect with audiences within and outside the company. The role will report
to the National Communications Manager and be based out of the company’s
headquarters in Burlington, ON.


Key Responsibilities:

•Responsible for the
company’s online newsletter, including setting an interesting and relevant
storyboard, conducting interviews, writing and editing articles and posting
content.
•Help plan, develop and manage the company’s intranet project from the initial
build right through to ongoing maintenance after go-live.
•Oversee the internal announcement process and provide advice on content,
timing and distribution.
•Write press releases and social media content (Twitter and LinkedIn) to
further promote and expand Wolseley Canada’s external reputation.
•Proofread, edit and revise content for clarity, consistency and grammatical
accuracy.
•Supervise of one direct report.
•Help with the delivery, implementation and evaluation of the communications
strategy across Canada, including the planning, production and distribution of
communications initiatives and materials.


Qualifications:

•Post secondary
education in Communications, Journalism or Public Relations, plus a minimum
five years work experience in a similar role.
•A history of writing targeted and creative copy (please submit two writing
samples that best demonstrate your writing skills) and strong editing skills.
•Supervisory experience.
•Familiarity with CP style.
•Creative and strategic in your planning and thought process.
•A positive, energetic, and motivated team player with the desire to be part of
a small but high performing department in a fast-paced work environment.
•Fluency in French language an asset.
