What to do before and during a presentation is very important in determining whether you are going to have a good presentation or not.
What to do before you step on stage:
• Prepare deep breathing: Enough oxygen is needed by your brain in the process of presentation. So taking a deep breathe before the presentation will help your brain with the necessary oxygen needed.
• Drink a glass of water: Nobody needs a dry mouth during a presentation. So taking a glass of water will help avoid dry mouth. Rise in adrenaline during a presentation can cause a dry mouth thereby getting tongue-tied.
• Smile: A relaxed mind is needed to stay claim during a presentation. A smile is a natural relaxant that sends positive chemicals through your body.
• Press and massage your forehead: In order to make a good presentation, your brain must be active and function at its best. So press and massage your forehead to energize the front head and brain centre.
What to do during the presentation:
• Make eye contact: You need an internal peace and relaxation to make a good presentation. So, just before you start talking, pause, make eye contact and smile.
• Speak slowly: To calm your nerves and make it easy to be heard especially at the end of the hall, speak slowly, but not too slowly to indicate that you are not sure of what you are doing. Pause whenever you give a rhetoric question to allow you audience some tome to ponder about the subject for a while.
• Move around: During your presentation do not be rooted to a particular point. Move around to expend some of your nervous energy.
