Role
overview
VSO
is looking for 5 dynamic Rwandan nationals to support field operation
activities under a 3 years Building Leaning Foundation project (BLF) that is
DFID funded intervention. This project will be implemented in partnership with
British Council (BC), Education Trust (EDT), Ministry of Education, Rwanda
Education Board and 30 Districts.
The
Field Operation Officer is responsible for timely planning, organising finance,
logistic and operation support to ensure smooth implementation of field
activities.
S/he
is responsible for sub office management, regular monitoring of the logistic,
finance and operation in the field of activities, collecting and verifying
accountabilities and advance requests etc.

Supervises: None
Works
with:

volunteers, DECs and BLF PM
Contract: Open-ended
contingent upon satisfactory performance and continued funding.
Skills,
qualifications and experience required
Key
Skills and Qualities
  • Bachelor’s
    degree in a related field
  • At
    least 6 years driving experience
  • Extensive
    knowledge of 4WD vehicle maintenance
  • Experience
    of managing driver pool
  • Good
    coordination/management skills
  • High
    IT knowledge (Word, Outlook, Excel)
  • Good
    written and verbal communication skills (Kinyarwanda, English and French)
  • Understanding
    of the role of international development and more specifically of
    volunteering in Rwanda
  • Flexibility
    to adapt, positive attitude towards change, and a constructive and
    creative approach to problem solving
  • Knowledge
    of geography of Rwanda and of Kigali
  • Valid
    driving license (Class B)
