Head of
Finance & Grants

VSO Rwanda is
seeking a senior finance expert capable of, providing strategic direction to
finance and grants management in VSO Rwanda programme, leading analytical
budgeting and quality finance reporting, maintaining diligent financial
control, conducting rigorous performance management of finance staff and
supporting staff development through coaching and mentoring.

As the Head of
Finance & Grants, you will report directly to the Country Director and will
act as one of the Senior Management Team (SMT) in VSO Rwanda. You will be
responsible for formulating the financial strategic direction, oversee implementation
of financial policies and procedures and develop them as necessary, coordinate
all budget activities according to VSO guidelines ensuring that budgets are
effectively developed, monitored and managed to raise efficiency in the use of
all types of funds. You will advise the Country Director and the SMT on budgets
and grants issues in a timely manner, aiming at financial risk
management.  

Working with the
People & Operations Team and Programmes Team, you will champion a vibrant
and positive volunteer community that is empowered and supported to work
effectively with local partners and actively engage in ongoing programme
development, implementation, and review. You will be a role model in resource
and risk management of VSO Rwanda finances.

We are seeking
highly qualified and motivated candidates who can demonstrate strategic level
financial and multi-grant management experience, who has experience in
international multi-donor organisations, who has got deep experience in
financial analysis and management, who can lead and manage performance of a
team of finance and grants staff, who can work as part of a large team in
change management and who can work independently under pressure to produce
timely results.

Key to the role is
deep experience and expertise of financial systems with substantial senior
level leadership and management experience in a complex INGO dealing with
multiple grants, preferably in Rwanda.
