Role
overview
VSO
Rwanda is looking for a dynamic and competent Rwanda national with extensive
experience in managing project budget and grant reporting to be our Project
Senior Accountant. This person will play a vital role in contributing to our
VSO Rwanda vision of “a Rwanda without poverty” through bringing
people together.
Locations: Kigali but managing
project working in 4 provinces of Rwanda
Reporting: Head of Finance with
matrix reporting to Programme Management Specialist
Contract

The
purpose of this Job is to support VSO programme team in managing the project
budget and grant reporting on timely basis.
Due
to the nature of the work, it is possible that some of this role may differ according
to how the office is developing and therefore the post holder will need to be
prepared to be flexible and adapt to their environment as necessary.

Skills,
qualifications and experience required
Technical
Accounting Expertise–Qualified Accountant Degree in Accounting, Finance or
related degree
  • Good
    technical accounting skills.
  • At
    least 3 years’ experience of financial planning, book keeping practice and
    principle, knowledge of internal controls, general ledger, cash management
    and reconciliations, payroll processing and taxation.
  • Experience
    of financial reporting, measurement and analysis.
  • Experience
    of rules and regulations for non-profit organisations.
  • Knowledge
    of donor financial reporting and donor procurement procedures.
