USAID ,Conflict Specialist Jobs in Uganda

USAID,’Uganda is
recruiting a qualified Ugandan to fill the position of CONFLICT
SPECIALIST.Basic function of the position:

Provides USAID/Uganda’s
Democracy, Governance and Conflict Development Objective (D02) Team and the
Mission technical guidance, program implementation support in the conflict area
and reporting to the D02 Team Leader, provides primary assistance in conflict
prevention, mitigation and resolution activities and manages assigned
activities within the portfolio to help achieve the Mission’s strategic
objective and results of its con

flict strategy. As principal activity manager
for peace dialogue and reconciliation activities, arid key informant on
conflict and reconciliation issues, the Conflict specialist collaborates with
the U.S. Embassy in Uganda, and other U.S. Government agencies, Government of
Uganda and Ugandan civil society partners, UN and private agencies and other Donors
to maintain dialogue with and obtain support from partners and stakeholders,
and ensure collaboration and agreement.

Qualifications/Education/Experience:

a. Education:

Must possess a
minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related field.

b. Prior work experience:

A minimum of 15
years of functionally professional experience in the field of conflict studies,
peace building, reconciliation, or post conflict programming.

c. Language
proficiency:

Level IV (fluent) in
English is required. Excellent English language speaking and writing skills
required.

d. Job knowledge:

Demonstrated sound
knowledge and experience with donor agency policies, regulations, and
administrative procedures. This includes extensive experience In management of
donor programs and projects under grants, cooperative agreements and/or
contracts.

e. Skills and
abilities:

A dynamic
individual, with strong interpersonal skills and must have the ability to
present concepts, analysis of the conflict and recommendations in clear written
and oral formats. Candidates must also demonstrate an ability and understanding
of best practices in promoting “development” during conflict and post
conflict.

Salary Range:
Ugshs117, 539,499 to 171,369,968 p.a. inclusive of allowances.
