The Department is seeking to appoint a Professor of Mathematics specializing in Stochastic Analysis and/or Mathematics of Finance.
Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to:
(i) teach graduate and undergraduate courses within the Department;
(ii) provide academic leadership through the enhancement of teaching and research;
(iii) play an active role in undergraduate research projects, together with supervision of MSc and PhD students;
(iv) mentor, and collaborate with junior colleagues in the areas of research and publications;
(v) raise/solicit research funds from funding agencies within and outside the country;
(vi) serve on committees within the University; and
(vii) carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Department.
Requirements:
Candidates should have:
(i) a PhD in Mathematics with specialization in Stochastic Analysis and/or Financial Mathematics or a closely related field;
(ii) significant university teaching experience or equivalent;
(iii) at least 24 publications, 12 of which are peer reviewed journal papers;
(iv) lead and/or single authored in at least 10 journal articles or book chapters;
(v) evidence of academic leadership;
(vi) evidence of service to a university, the profession and the community;
(vii) the ability to attract funding from international sources, and this should be reflected in the profile.
