1. Background:
UNICEF
is supporting the Government of Rwanda in improving access to safe water and
sanitation in line with the provi

United Nations Development Assistance Framework 2013-18. Since 2009, UNICEF
support to the Government of Rwanda has resulted in provision of access to
improved water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) services to over 500,000 people.
In addition, over 260 schools and 50 health centres were also provided access
to improved WASH services.
As
part of continued efforts to support the Government of Rwanda in improving the
coverage of WASH services, UNICEF is currently assisting in implementation of
interventions aimed at strengthening enabling framework as well as provision of
WASH services in communities, schools, early childhood development centres in
11 districts. Moreover, assistance is also being provided to support
construction and maintenance of emergency WASH infrastructure in the refugee
camps.

2. Objective(s):
The
purpose of this announcement is to attract suitable candidates to be included
on UNICEF Rwanda’s Roster of Experts and Consultants in WASH. The Roster will
be used by UNICEF Rwanda to identify possible candidates for short-term
specific assignments in WASH on need basis.

4. Qualifications
and Experience:

An advanced degree (Masters or PhD) in a related field (ref. no. 3 above). In
exceptional circumstances, a combination of a Bachelor’s degree and appropriate
experience may also be accepted in lieu of advanced degree;

consultant/individual contractor will not be issued a Travel Auhorisation. The
claim will be based on submitted voucher approved by supervisor.
