TIGO Pricing Manager Job Vacancy in Kigali, Rwanda

JOB PURPOSE
To support the African country operations in
developing and executing their local pricing strategy through strategic insight
in ongoing and past pricing decisions, by developing and implementing world
class pricing techniques & tools and by continuous training to develop top
level local pricing capabilities.  

In terms of results, we are looking for clear
pricing strategy execution that drives growth while maintaining healthy
profitability among all African mobile business units.  There is a new way
of evaluating pricing decisions through advanced pricing techniques and all
this know-how has been infused to all African mobile pricing units by quality
training and tool development support.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Strategic pricing leader/counsel
  • Lead the pricing central team day to day basis
  • Partner with in-country teams to guide
    strategic and analytical thinking in pricing decisions and actions
  • Liaise with Finance to ensure alignment in
    pricing strategy, tools and decisions
  • Collaborate with Consumer Understanding to
    ensure the best consumer & market research is available to assist in
    strategic pricing decisions
  • Develop a new strategic pricing way of
    thinking in the Rwanda  
  • Innovate pricing analytics through world class
    techniques and tool development
  • Build proactive and insightful analyses of
    past pricing decisions based on elasticity, ARPU uptake and profit generated
    by Above the Line (ATL) products
  • Develop tools to regress and extrapolate such
    as price elasticity or customer base reaction to pricing changes
  • Build with data warehouse strong data marts
    that support the needs of pricing organization and contribute to the
    overall DW project as champion from the commercial side    
  • Collaborate with Consumer Understanding to
    create and update conjoint pricing studies and necessary analysis
    resulting from these
  • Support Targeted Sales with the creation and
    maintenance of propensity models & financial evaluation models
  • Assist the Finance forecasting process through
    better predictive revenue tools and analyses
  • Be at the forefront of pricing techniques and
    tools through continuous training
  • Coach, train & develop outstanding pricing
    in-market capabilities
  • Develop a training methodology to introduce
    and strengthen pricing techniques & tools
  • Publish self-training material available to
    the pricing team
Expected Knowledge and competencies
  • Mobile telecoms market knowledge and customer
    understanding:
    strong understanding of the mobile business,
    the main products and services, revenue streams, tariffs and offers,
    customer preferences, etc for Tigo and competitors (Expert level required)
  • Extensive pricing experience from a African
    mobile operator and/or competitive FMCG environment
  • Financial modeling: strong understanding of modeling of costs
    and revenue associated to offers and pricing alternatives (Advanced level
    required)
  • Applied statistical analysis

  • Expert in pricing & analytics – a
    strategic pricing leader whose opinion is sought, has a superior ability
    to make complex analyses understanding the key drivers of commercial
    performance
  • Extensive knowledge of the mobile or FMCG
    commercial environment, specializing in pricing analytics and consumer
    understanding
  • An excellent teacher, has the willingness to
    build a world class pricing team in Rwanda
