Job description:
Our client is today one of the fastest growing beauty companies selling direct. Due to continued growth they now have a vacancy for a Senior Chemist (Personal & Haircare).
The Senior Chemist will report to the Personal & Haircare Manager. They will be responsible for developing and delivering Personal care (PHC) formulation projects within the NPD process. To gather, interpret and apply strategic Technical Insights. Work with and help develop the PHC formulation library.
The Job is based in Ireland but may involve travel. Full Spec is available on request.
Primary Responsibilities
NPD Formulation Projects
Develop formulations of varying complexities in response to briefs issued from the marketing team.
Identify the best options for developing formulations to meet the brief ensuring on-time delivery.
Work closely with the claims support and scale up teams to ensure products are suitable for manufacture and deliver the appropriate claims.
Manage projects from concept through to approval for manufacture
Monitor competitor activity within a given sector of the personal care market ensuring all trends and technical insights are captured and fed into the innovation process.
Participate in the innovation process developing concept formulations.
Participate in innovation workshops with marketing to ensure concepts become NPD projects.
Qualifications/Experience
At least 5 years experience in a similar role
Degree in ChemistryCosmetic Science
Competencies
Experience gained through formulating cosmetic products
