Campus Infrastructure & Services (CIS) is responsible for the built
environment of the University of Sydney campuses including the provision of
campus services (security, cleaning, mail & waste), management of existing
assets, planning solutions to operational needs and delivering approved projects
in line with the University of Sydney’s Strategic Plan.

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and committed Sustainability Officer.
Reporting to the Sustainability and Engineering Unit Manager, you will be
responsible for providing support to the Sustainability and Engineering Unit
and developing and implementing a range of University Sustainability
Initiatives.

In this role, you will:

  • be
    involved in the development, implementation and management of University
    Environmental Sustainability and related strategies, standards, policies,
    procedures, reports and initiatives
  • strategically
    help drive energy and resource efficiency of campus building operations
  • lead
    development and establishment of an Environmental Management System and
    ensure implementation of the University Sustainability framework for
    campus building projects
  • undertake
    business and technical analyses to support successful implementation of
    University-wide Sustainability strategies
  • proactively
    lead engagement and communications with University staff and student
    communities as well as other stakeholders to promote environmental
    sustainability

To be successful in this role you will have:
  • relevant
    tertiary and/or post graduate qualifications in Environmental Engineering,
    Environmental Science, or related fields, and demonstrated extensive
    relevant professional experience in Environmental Engineering,
    Environmental Consulting and/or Environmental Sustainability roles in the
    government and/or the private sector.
  • proven
    expertise in the driving, developing, establishing and implementing of
    Environmental Sustainability strategies, governance systems, procedures
    and processes.
  • detailed
    knowledge and experience in multi-disciplinary, technical as well as
    social engagement aspects of Environmental Sustainability.
  • managed
    delivery and coordination of multiple sustainability
    initiatives/activities
  • excellent
    time management, report writing and organisational skills.

Remuneration package:
$109,610 – $123,615 p.a. (which includes a base salary Level 8 $92,621 –
$104,456 p.a., leave loading and up to 17% employer’s contribution to
superannuation).
