A research
fellowship is available within the NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence for Antimicrobial
Stewardship. The fellow will work with staff and research higher degree
students examining patterns of antim
icrobial use in intensive animal
industries, the motivations for antimicrobial use, and the effect use has on
antimicrobial resistance. The fellow will work closely with members of the
Asia-Pacific Centre for Animal Health in the Faculty of Veterinary and
Agricultural Sciences, and with other participants in the Centre of Research
Excellence for Antimicrobial Stewardship based at the Doherty Institute for
Infection and Immunity and other institutions.
Applicants should
have a background in animal health and veterinary microbiology. An
understanding of microbial bioinformatics and production animal health in
Australia is desirable.
