Position
Summary:
The Area Team Leader
position for the 2014 Christmas Kettle Campaign is a short term, contract
position which plays an integral role in The Salvation Army’s Public Relations
and Development Department in Edmonton.Individuals are responsible for the
general oversight of multiple Christmas Kettles in one geographic area. This
includes recruiting and supervising volunteers; liaising with location
contacts; and working as a team with the Special Event Coordinator and
Volunteer Coordinator.
Reporting
to: Special Event Coordinator/Kettle Coordinator
Duties and
Responsibilities:
- Supervise
& provide breaks to volunteers in multiple locations
- Daily
communication with your area partner & Volunteer Coordinator
- Track
and submit timesheets and expense claims daily and submit on a weekly
basis
- Maintain
a communication log for your area of responsibility
- Follow
a schedule and timetable as set out
- Assist
with other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Post-secondary
education. Preference will be given to those graduated from or currently
enrolled in Volunteer Management, Business Administration, or Human
Resources. Relevant experience will be considered. - Excellent
communication and organizational skills - Capable
of supervising and coaching volunteers - Can
work well independently and as a team player - Ability
to make quick decisions accurately - Capacity
to retain large amounts of information
Terms of
Employment
- Work
Monday to Saturday (9:30 am – 4:30 pm), from November 10 until Dec
24, 2014
- Compensation
is $12.50/hr
- Overtime
will not be paid unless previously approved
- Must
have access to a personal vehicle
- Security
