The Jim Pattison Broadcast Group has
an exciting opportunity for a part-time News and Sports Reporter in Medicine
Hat. If you have a passion for reporting and want to be part of a
dedicated news team then we want to hear from you. Our ideal candidate
has experience covering everything from council meetings to hockey games.
This position will involve working weekends and evenings. Strong
videojournalism skills are considered an asset.

Reporting to the News Director, the
successful candidate will:

- Research
and pitch original story ideas daily for air on TV, Radio, and the web - Cover
news and sports events - Report
live in studio - Read
and write radio news/sports - Assist
in the production of features and specials - Be
prepared to handle Videojournalism assignments - Develop
and maintain contacts - Represent
CHAT-TV at community events
Qualifications
- Post
Secondary education in broadcasting or journalism program - Minimum
one year of experience reporting and anchoring in a small market - Strong
written and editorial skills - Strong
on-air presentation - Proven
ability as an ENG photographer - Excellent
communication and interpersonal skills - Ability
to act quickly and make decisions in a constantly changing environment - A
self starter who can contribute and work in a team environment with a “can
do” attitude - Knowledge
of events and issues in Medicine Hat/Southern Alberta is considered an
asset - Must
be willing to work a variety of shifts including evenings and weekends
