rop nutrient technology and agribusiness expertise. IFDC is recruiting staff
for a 4-year CATALIST-Uganda Project, funded by DGIS through the Embassy of the
Kingdom of the Netherlands, Kampala. The project aims to enable over 110,000
Uganda smallholder farm families to produce and market potatoes, cassava, rice,
soybean and sunflower on a commercial scale.
The IFDC-Uganda office seeks qualified candidates to fill the following
positions for a one-year, fixed-term, renewable upon continued funding and
performance. JOB TITLE: Commercial Officer (s)
Reports To: Private Sector
Development Specialist. Position Location: Lira, Mbale & Kabale
Job Summary
The role of the Commercial Officer(s) is to oversee the development of Rural
Producer Organization and linkages with Cooperatives and Area Based Cooperative
Enterprises. He/she will coordinate the identification, training, and
activation of participating farmer groups in the transformation into groups
which can legally operate VSLA/SACCO activities, engage in commercial trading
activities and meet the legal requirements to be eligible for commercial
lending activities with banks. These activities will be conducted in close
coordination with District Local Government Commercial Officers in the projects
respective districts of operation.
