The Boundless School helps teenagers accomplish extraordinary outcomes
by blen

ding outdoor adventure, high school curriculum and leadership
development.

Based on our stunning 600 acre “classroom” in the Madawaska Highlands
of Eastern Ontario, working at Boundless has been described by former
staff as being as much of an inner journey as it is helping our
students have meaningful ones themselves.

We are not for the faint of heart or couch potatoes. We work hard. We
emphasize connecting with students above all else, and this often
takes far more courage than negotiating whitewater on one of the three
stunning rivers we traverse.

The spring/summer program is mostly outdoor adventure based. We are
river people, and we climb, hike, go to remote wilderness, engage in
silliness and try not and take ourselves too seriously. Helping
students go home proud of themselves, with greater resilience and more
skills in their toolbox, is our reason for being.

In the fall and winter, we are a Live-In School, helping students not
engaged by mainstream education fast-track their way to be on top of
their educational games.

We hire interns year round. While most start on May 1st, we are
beginning to hire people throughout the year as we expand the Live-In
School.

All new staff begin as paid interns. In September, the intent is to
then offer seasonal or year round employment. Applicants interested in
one season only are discouraged from applying.

Interns learn about outdoor adventure, especially whitewater. They
assist with the leadership of all aspects of Boundless in the summer,
including 3-7 day remote river journeys.

At Boundless, we value applicants who present a history of working
with older teenagers, experience facilitating groups and some
professional track record in the outdoors. One of the above is
sufficient to apply, two is better, and all three is best.

We require a full Class G or equivalent driver’s license. Being a
strong swimmer is a requirement, and presenting credentials in
swimming is an asset.

We are looking for people who are recent graduates of Faculty of
Education programs, CYW, BSW and MSW students, Recreation and other
areas that resonate with our mission.
