The Agricultural Research and Extension Trust (ARET) is
mandated to conduct research on tobacco and provide extension services to
tobacco farmers, the Trust seeks to fill the following vacancies for
which applications are invite d
Laboratory Technician – Kandiya Research Station, Lilongwe
MSCE, Diploma in Laboratory Technology, At least 3 yrs relevant work
experience
Reporting to the Chemist
Assisting te professional officer to carry out scientific experiments, Manage
laboratory and field trials, Collect data from field and laboratory trials,
Collect samples for analyses and assessments, Data archiving, Prepare quarterly
and annual technical reports, Assist in identifying researchable farmers
constraints affecting the growers and implement programs aimed at generating
solution, Checking the operation, condition and maintenance of laboratory
instruments, Pesticides residues analyses, Soil sampling in farmers fields when
need arises, Checking new methodologies when new procedures have been
identified for use in the laboratory in collaboration with the Chemist,
Monitoring sample charges and invoicing, Assist the Chemist in day to day
supervision of laboratory work, Participate in creating files for data entry in
spreadsheet so that the chemist readily interprets the data
