Tetra Tech ARD, headquartered in
Burlington, Vermont is currently accepting expressions of interest from
qualified candidates for a potential Deputy Chief of Party position on a
USAID-funded program in Malawi.
Program Goal: To increase the competitiveness of small
and medium enterprises (SMEs) operating in key agricultural value chains in
south central Malawi.
Responsibilities:
*Support the Chief of Party (COP)
to ensure that the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and
progress of all program activities are in accordance with established
strategies and meet the goals and objectives of targeted communities,
beneficiary groups, USAID, and the Government of Malawi.
*Provide technical expertise and
manage technical staff focusing on areas such as agribusiness, enhanced
agricultural production, post-harvest handling, storage, and processing,
improved food security, improved market linkages and agribusiness and
institutional capacity development.
*Ensure that cross-cutting themes
such as gender, climate change, and youth engagement are fully integrated into
programming and activities.
*Provide mentoring, coaching, and
supervision for direct technical reports.
Qualifications:
*Advanced degree in agronomy,
agricultural economics, agribusiness, international development, or other
relevant fields;
*Minimum of 7 years of experience
in the development sector, managing and/or providing technical assistance to
USAID-funded projects, preferably in Sub-Saharan Africa;
*Demonstrated experience managing
complex donor-funded programs; experience with private sector agribusiness
management preferred;
*Qualified Malawian nationals are
encouraged to apply.
