Overview:
To support a current project, we are seeking an Environmental Monitor to join our team and work on-site under the supervision of the senior environmental monitor (R.P.Bio). The project work area is from Winfield to Oyama, BC and we are looking for a person based in the Okanagan (Kelowna or Vernon). This is a full-time position with excellent prospects. This position requires an individual with experience in erosion and sediment control practices, environmental monitoring for construction projects, as well as a willingness to work with contractors to ensure compliance with applicable environmental regulations and permitting requirements.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include:
• Complete monitoring reports, as required, to document environmental compliance
• Implement and monitor erosion and sediment control measures to ensure protection of environmental resources
• Liaise with contractors to provide direction on implementation of environmental protection plans

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess the following:
• Minimum of a Degree or Diploma in Sciences or Technology or other related field along with 1+ years of environmental monitoring experience
• Professional Designation an asset
• Excellent interpersonal abilities, effective verbal and written communication
• Experience working with contractors on active construction sites
• Valid driver’s licence, and access to a vehicle
• Environmental Monitoring and/or Erosion and Sediment Control training an asset
• Knowledge of municipal bylaws as well as provincial and federal legislation and permitting requirements for environmental resources an asset
• Occupational Level 1 First Aid required
• Proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel
