Title:TEARFUND
International Citizen Service (ICS) Volunteering Program
What is ICS?
ICS is a UK government-funded programme that
brings together 18 to 25-year-olds each January, April, July and October from
all backgrounds to fight poverty in Rwanda. you don’t need money, skills or
qualifications to take part in ICS – just the ambition to make a difference.

ICS Provides:
  • An opportunity to learn about another
    culture as you live and work together with your UK colleagues for 10
    weeks
  • An opportunity to grow in your faith
  • An opportunity to learn about development
    work
  • All costs (food, accommodation &
    transport) covered plus a weekly stipend to help you with personal
    expenses
  • A certificate of completion and membership
    to the alumni association of ICS Rwanda with opportunities to stay
    involved in community development work
Locations in Rwanda: Kigali, Muhanga, Rwamagana and Cyangugu 
To Apply you should:
  • Be a committed follower of Jesus with a
    Godly character
  • Be 18-25 years old
  • Be older than 23 with leadership experience
    if you want to apply for a leader
  • Have excellent English language skills
  • Be able to  commit full time for 10
    weeks; January – March 2014 (you will be requested to stay in your
    placement for the whole 10 weeks for completion of the program)
  • Be flexible and adaptable
  • Have a desire to learn about development
    work
  • Have a commitment to serve your community
    and nation
