Job Purpose:


The TravelWise Program Manager’s primary responsibility is to provide
core management support, partnership coordination, and strategic
improvements to the Travelwise program.

Term: Full-time, 40 hours/week
Salary: $46,500 per year, plus benefits package
Reporting To: Executive Director

Duties and Responsibilities:

Program Management:
• Manage the TravelWise program’s day-to-day operations, including
member and employee questions, stakeholder coordination, and
communications.
• Develop and lead the program’s Business Development strategy and
coordinate member onboarding alongside the Region of Waterloo.
• Maintain member relationships and contact on an ongoing basis.
• Deliver program services to members in an effective and efficient manner.
• Track and maintain discretionary spending for program activities.
• Create and oversee an annual work plan.
• Supervise and coach other TravelWise team members, including the
Promotions Coordinator and any volunteer positions, in collaboration
with the Executive Director.
• Implement annual all-employee surveys with members, including
design, coordination, and report creation.
• Maintain an ongoing success metrics for reporting purposes.
• Manage recognition framework and criteria for members, including the
Milestone Process, member awards, and content for SWR’s Evening of
Recognition and Year End Report.
• Encourage and support members as they work through the milestone
process, including coaching, brainstorming, and input on employer
commuting action plans.
• Coordinate quarterly TravelWise Working Group meetings with members,
including topic selection, location arrangement, agenda, and
follow-ups.

Partnership Coordination:
• Coordinate monthly meetings between Sustainable Waterloo Region and
the Region of Waterloo Planning Department, including agendas, action
items, and minutes.
• Prepare quarterly progress updates for SWR’s Board of Directors and
Regional Management.
• Advise SWR and the Region of Waterloo on key challenges and
opportunities from day-to-day operations.
• Provide updates on specific program components, as necessary.
• Facilitate any future budgeting, business development, or program
development conversations.

Strategic Improvements:
• Utilize data collected through member surveys to identify
opportunity areas, trends, and issue areas for consideration.
• Develop an annual member assessment, including benchmarking
information, satisfaction, and next steps for members.
• Create best practice documents to empower TravelWise members, using
data collected from surveys, assessments, and secondary research.
• Identify possible funding opportunities to enable program growth and
sustainability.
• Collaborate with the Region of Waterloo, Sustainable Waterloo Region
on program evolution and integration into other target-setting
programs.
• Seek to continually innovate, improve, and grow the program.

In addition, it is expected that the Program Manager will support
other areas of SWR from time-to-time. This will include regular
check-ins with other team members and program areas to ensure
cross-support and efficiency, collaboration on joint projects like the
Year-End-Report, and assistance with support areas of the
organization.

Requirements:

Skills and Qualifications:
• Outstanding organizational ability and project management skills
• Excellent communication skills, and ability to connect with a
diversity of people in relation to changing their behaviors
• Diplomacy and tact
• Proven leadership skills and experience working with a mix of staff
and volunteers
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
• Able to prioritize, operationalize and report back on tasks completed
• Understanding of survey design, promotion, and analysis
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, Outlook, and
Word
• Ability to respond quickly to changing expectations
• A track record of thriving from intrinsically gratifying work; self-motivated
• Passion for environmental issues, for community-based leadership,
and for improving the environmental sustainability of Waterloo Region
• Knowledge of core Transportation Demand Management programming at
the employer level
• Familiarity with local transportation systems and trends
• A valid G-class driver’s license in good standing

Additional Assets
• Experience working in a consulting engagement
• Flexibility to lead & attend occasional morning and evening meetings
