The study was based on the poor refuse
management and its health implication in Uguno Orogun community. The community
has a population of 6,031 inhabitants while a target population of 3,000 people
(aged 18 years and above) was used for the study.

The sample size for the study was 300
persons. Stratified and sample random sampling technique was used to select the
sample size. The stratified sampling technique was used to divide the target
population into ten (10) strata with each stratum representing a quarter in the
community comprising of both male and female of eighteen years and above for
equal representation in order to get reasonable and factual response. The simple
random sampling technique (balloting without replacement) was used to select 30
persons from each of the stratum to make up the sampling size of 300 respondents.
