The Mining Justice group at the University of Ottawa wants to launch a campaign for ethical investment at the University of Ottawa. The Campaign Officer’s role will be to prepare this campaign, whose main objective is to educate students and the community at the University of Ottawa and to encourage the university to adopt policies that promote ethical investments.
Job Description:
• 30 hours per week for 6 weeks
• $ 10.25 per hour
• Office location: to be determined with the Student Federation University of Ottawa (SFUO)
• Number of positions available: 1

Tasks:
• Prepare the campaign for ethical investment at the University of Ottawa
• Determine the content of the campaign: promoting respect for human rights and sustainable development, awareness of the impact of investments; making responsible choices
• Develop information materials for the campaign: a handbook on ethical investment, campaign goals
• Update Mining Justice Ottawa blog
• Develop posters, banners and other promotional materials
• Organize the campaign launch and other related events
• Collaboration with OPIRG-Ottawa and other organizations with similar goals
Qualifications:
• Be between 15 and 30 years of age and be a full time university student intending to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year
• Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations..
• Being bilingual (French / English) is an asset.
• Communications and marketing skills.
• Ability to work with little supervision.
• Basic knowledge of human rights and ethical investment issues.
