Founded in 2014, we
are an innovative and entrepreneurial organization. We are constantly changing
and adapting and we need motivated and creative individuals to run our team on
the ground throughout Malawi. We provide financial literacy and business
education
to girls in second

ary school and school dropouts in
Malawi. We support students to work in teams to design community development
projects using the skills they learn throughout our course. Students will work
with mentors from the community and trained teachers to learn important skills
in business and advocacy. Our mission is to provide Malawi’s secondary
students with the skills and confidence necessary to address challenges in
their community through an integrated business and advocacy curriculum. We
expect our students to be leaders!

and are expanding to two additional schools in Lilongwe this September. For

OVERVIEW OF THE
POSITION:

The part-time
Treasurer is a one-year, contract position starting in September 2015, with the
primary responsibility of overseeing and delivering the finances to our three
project schools. He/She will be committed to accountability and transparency.
He/She will be committed to our mission and have a creative entrepreneurial
attitude to bring to the work we do at Student Driven Solutions. He/She will
possess a demonstrated passion and commitment to youth leadership,
entrepreneurship, transparency, and accountability. The part-time Treasurer
will report directly to the Director of Student Driven Solutions.

Specific
Responsibilities:

·        
Responsible
for strong financial oversight and management of budgets
·        
Coordinate
with small staff and school partners to plan logistics required in getting
funds and
supplies
to the appropriate location on time and in an organized manner
·        
Responsible
for preparing budgets and documenting receipts and payments
·        
Responsible
for coordinating with the volunteer accountant to prepare for audits
Qualifications:
·        
A
Bachelor’s degree and at least 1-3 years of experience in a related field (Accounting,
Business, Financial Management)
·        
Broad
financial skills, including experience with budgeting, planning and accounting
·        
Commitment
to accountability, transparency, and meticulous documentation of finances
·        
Computer
skills are required; Excellent speaking and writing skills are preferred
·        
Experience
serving as treasurer for an organization with several locations around the
country
·        
Proficiency
in Excel required; Experience with QuickBooks preferred
·        
Fluency
in English and Chichewa required
·        
A
passion for leadership development, education, and entrepreneurship
