Description
  • Listening
    to customer requirements and presenting appropriately to make a sale.
  • Maintaining
    and developing relationships with existing customers in person and via
    telephone calls and emails.
  • Cold
    calling to arrange meetings with potential customers to prospect for new
    business.
  • Responding
    to incoming email and phone enquiries.
  • Acting
    as a contact between a company and its existing and potential markets.
  • Negotiating
    the terms of an agreement and closing sales.
  • Gathering
    market and customer information.
  • Representing
    the company at trade exhibitions, events and demonstrations.
  • Challenging
    any objections with a view to getting the customer to buy.
  • Advising
    on forthcoming projects and discussing special promotions.
  • Reviewing
    your own sales performance, aiming to meet or exceed targets.
  • Gaining
    a clear understanding of customers’ businesses and requirements.
  • Making
    accurate, rapid cost calculations and providing customers with quotations.
  • Attending
    team meeting and sharing best practice with colleagues.
  • Develop
    network and maintain relationships with clients.
  • Overcome
    client resistance/objections to products and educate them about the
    current operational processes.
  • Effective
    communication

Qualifications:
  • Have
    a bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum
    of 5 years of related experience and/or training.
  • Prior
    sales experience and previous supervisory experience in a construction
    organization preferred.
  • Excellent
    written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong
    organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability
    to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers.
  • Ability
    to effectively present information.
  • Ability
    to respond effectively to sensitive issues.
  • Requires
    advanced knowledge of financial terms and principles.
  • Ability
    to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and
    commissions. Conducts advanced financial analysis.
  • Ability
    to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
  • Ability
    to solve problems involving several options in situations.
  • Requires
    advanced analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Solid
    experience using sales database systems, Microsoft Office (PowerPoint,
    Excel, Word), Outlook, social media, internet. 
  • Decisions
    made with thorough understanding of procedures, company policies, and
    business practices to achieve general results and deadlines.
  • Responsible
    for setting work unit and/or project deadlines.
  • Errors
    in judgment may cause short-term impact to department.
