Type: work-stay / volunteer position with accom., some food (see below)
Organization: Spencer Hill Orchard
Location: Grand Forks, British Columbia
This is a unique and wonderful opportunity in the b
Care-take, live and work on 8 acres of organic orchard and market
garden in exchange for food and housing. Minimum 6 week commitment
required.
I have a very large farmhouse, 8 acres of Certified Organic property
that holds 3 acres of orchard, greenhouse, market garden area and open
land. I am currently managing this on my own (due to unforeseen
circumstances) and need some help for this coming season to allow time
away, and overall assistance with the seasons work demands.
With the right match of person, or family or couple – I will
familiarize the Caretaker(s) to the duties of the farm. This
orientation would be approximately 1 week with both the caretaker(s)
and myself on site. I would then be leaving the farm for one month to
allow myself some time away and to attend family events. Local friends
and farmers would be available for any assistance.
I am open to the possibility that this may attract a new owner to the
farm. This farm is for sale – so this is possible but certainly not a
requirement. This is a tremendous opportunity for a family interested
in considering this kind of lifestyle. See this listing for pictures
and more info on the farm.
