Yard Work and Snow
Removal
Report: Coordinator of Volunteers or
Executive Director
Purpose: To provide SSCAS members
with affordable and cost efficient yard work (spring & fall) and snow
removal in the winter
Duties:
- Maintain
contact with SSCAS office regarding availability. - Accept
referrals for service. - Yard
work consists of grass cutting, raking and disposing of cuttings. - Do
extra garden work (maintaining flower beds, weeding and watering) at the
request of the Member. - Contact
members directly when you are assigned and arrange the times you will be
working in their yards. Also call them if you cannot make the appointment.
Members will call snow removal providers when they want snow removed. - Contact
the SSCAS office if there are any problems. - Report
immediately to SSCAS if you suspect any abuse by a member. - Collect
your fee ($15.00/hour) directly from the member. - Attend
the Annual General Meeting of SSCAS (held the end of April).
Qualifications:
- Service
Providers must be members of the SSCAS – $12.00 a year - Must
sign a waiver of Liability form - Skills
in one or more of the service areas - Good
language and communication skills - Enjoy
working with seniors - Pleasant
and patient disposition

Commitment:
Minimum six months; your hours per week will depend on your availability
and number of requests received in the office.
