ABOUT SFH

Society for Family
Health (SFH) is a non-profit organization in Rwanda that is positioned to be
the largest social marketing organization in Rwanda, with five regional offices
across the country. Working in partnership within the public and private
sectors, and harnessing the power of the markets, SFH will be providing
life-saving products, clinical services and social and behavior change
communications(SBCC) that empower the world’s most vulnerable populations to
lead healthier lives. SFH’s core values include a belief in markets and market
mechanisms to contribute to sustained improvements in the lives of the poor;
results and a strong focus on measurement; speed and efficiency with a
predisposition to action and an aversion to bureaucracy; decentralization and
empowering our staff at the national and district level; and a long term
commitment to the people we serve. SFH will be implementing diverse public
health interventions in HIV/AIDS, reproductive health, malaria, and maternal
and child health including nutrition. SFH’s activities will range from product
sales and distribution to social and behavior change communication, advocacy,
reproductive health research, and community mobilization. SFH’s donor platform
is anticipated to include the Global Fund for HIV/AIDS, Malaria and TB, USAID,
CDC and numerous other donors.

The IT Assistant is responsible for the general
maintenance of all IT equipments of SFH Rwanda. Taking appropriate action
whenever there’s a break-down of any of the IT equipment or service and
immediately reporting to the IT and Network Coordinator. S/he must be aware of,
and follow, IT safety procedures. The successful candidate will be a hands-on
and participative Assistant.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE IT ASSISTANT
The responsibilities are but not limited to:
  1. Always make sure that all IT materials
    allocated to SFH staff (including Regions offices) are in good condition.
  2. With supervision of the IT and Network
    Coordinator, identify and rehabilitate any physical network including data
    point and voice point with problem.
  3. Always maintain updated inventory of computer
    and all IT equipments allocated to entire SFH Rwanda staff (including
    Region offices) and report to IT Coordinator.
  4. With supervision of IT and Network
    Coordinator, performing company-wide preventive maintenance of IT
    equipments quarterly.
  5. Under supervision of IT and Network
    Coordinator, check/repair reported fault IT equipment basically
    photocopiers, printers and computers.
  6. Work with warehouse Associate to control and
    monitor all IT equipments located in warehouse and how this requested by
    the user/staff on a daily basis.
  7. With supervision of IT and Network
    Coordinator, check and control modems (post and pre-paid lines).
  8. Work at the help desk, receiving all request
    from IT users and respond effectively keeping the supervisor informed.
  9. Comply with all SFH policies and procedures.
  10. Work with procurement checking and verify the
    quality, specifications of all delivered IT materials.
  11. With the supervision of IT and Network
    Coordinator, prepare and submit request for petty cash and advances to
    solve issues related to IT field in case of nee to procurement on time.
These responsibilities are not exhaustive and may
be, if needed, modified by supervisor IT Coordinator.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum of university degree in Information
     Technology/Computers Science;
  • Experience of 3 years in IT field.
  • Hands on skills in information Technology
    field.
  • Fluent in English, French is a plus.
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility,
    and dedication to the mission of SFH.
  • S/he will be outcome oriented, able to manage
    multiple priorities at a time, and able to keep moving with minimal
    day-to-day supervision.
