1. JOB TITLE: Quality Engineer


2. REPORTS TO: Product & Quality Manager

3. PURPOSE:

Responsible of the quality assurance of products and processes.
According to the established programs, performs the control on the
status of the quality management system.

4. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

4.1 Develop quality controls and Work Instructions in cooperation with
the management team.

4.2 Monitor the variations in scraps products and raw materials (out
of spec) that are rejected at the various steps of production flow.
Make statistical evaluations and define corrective actions. Lead root
cause/corrective action activities.

4.3 Suggest improvements of the quality controls and Work Instructions
in order to reduce scraps and improve the performance of the finished
product.

4.4 Reduce the production of scraps, and improve the capacity using
in-depth analysis and improvement of the process.

4.5 Support and train continually the Quality Technicians, Lead Hands
and Operators on WI’s, Quality and Process issues.

4.6 Create statistical analysis and reports on the quality of raw
materials and finished product.

4.7 Monitor performance and accordingly suggest improvements to the
Leadership Team on the production recipes for the various steps of the
process. Implement approved improvements.

4.8 Monitor and audit operations suggesting improvements to the tools
of quality control used in the production line (vision systems, EL
test, Sun Simulator, etc.) and in the QA room/lab in cooperation with
the Leadership Team.

4.9 Manage the calibration of the instruments of measurement in the
production line and in the QA lab.

4.10 Prepare reference modules for the calibration of solar simulator.

4.11 Suggest to Leadership Team measures that will improve the
traceability of the finished product.

4.12 Liaise with suppliers and customers when required, going to
customer sites as needed.

4.13 In collaboration with the Leadership Team produce and maintain
all documentation required for the Quality manual in respecting the
ISO standards.

4.14 Support the “Product & Quality Manager” as required.

4.15 Respect and promote Ethic and Operational Values

4.16 Be involved as a driving force in continual improvement and
corrective/preventative actions.

5. TARGETS:

5.1 Ensure and continuously improve the quality standards of the
finished product.

5.2 Contribute to reducing downtime in production through preventive
and corrective actions.

5.3 Contribute to reducing scrap through preventive and corrective actions.

5.4 Constantly enhance the motivation and team-spirit of all operational staff.

5.5 Manage quality related concerns with proficiency, providing
solutions to failure modes.

6. MAIN CHARACTERISTICS:
• Advanced diploma or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering,
manufacturing engineering, physics or similar field is required.
• Minimum 3+ years’ experience as Quality Engineer in a high-volume,
high-tech manufacturing environment is required. Module manufacturing
experience is preferred, however not required.
• Proven ability to work independently and with little direction,
using initiative to identify and solve quality issues.
• Proven proficiency with computers and statistical software packages.
• Proven leadership skills, working within a team environment, leading
problem solving teams and acting as a change agent.
• Excellent understanding of problem solving techniques including 8D,
5Why’s, Fishbone, Etc.

Other skills researched
• PERSONAL skills: respectful for people, transparent behavior,
hardworking, energetic, reliable, self-disciplined, able to solve
problems with no supervision; able to work well both alone and in
multi-disciplined teams; results oriented.
• LANGUAGES skills: excellent English
• COMPUTER skills: must be proficient with computers, including all
Office programs (particularly Excel) and Statistical tools

7. HOURS OF WORK:

Typically 8:30am to 5pm, but must be willing to work various hours on
occasion, including the possibility of evenings and/or weekends.

8. GROSS PROFIT

To be determined based on experience.

Full benefit entitlement following 3-month probationary period.
