Our client, Splatsin, is now seeking an experienced Natural Resource
Biologist to join their Title & Rights team. This p
osition is
responsible for building project management and delivering technical
capacity within the team, supporting the growth and professional
development of core programs and services, providing technical
expertise and supporting in environmental and training of staff.
The Natural Resource Biologist will be responsible for:
• Managing and delivering projects in support of Splatsin’s Fish &
Wildlife Program;
• Supporting the management and delivery of Cultural Heritage &
Archeology Projects;
• Contributing to the growth of Splatsin’s Environmental Services sector;
• Providing technical support on referrals and consultation involving
natural resource components;
• Identifying potential opportunities for contracts, employment, and
capacity building;
• Developing and maintaining good relationships with clients and
Splatsin partners;
• Developing project reports, proposals and work plans;
• Managing project budgets and contracts; and
• Mentoring and training Splatsin technicians.
To be selected, you must have a Bachelor’s Degree in environmental or
biological sciences. You must have 5 years of multidisciplinary
experience in environmental and biological sciences and 3 years of
project management experience. You will need to be eligible for
professional registration (R.P. Biol) within 6 months of starting.
The successful candidate will also have experience in fisheries
resource management, aquatic ecology, water quality and hydrology,
environmental impact assessments and environmental management,
permitting and monitoring. Experience in wildlife resource management,
terrestrial ecology, and cultural heritage and archeology assessments
is considered an asset.
In addition, you must be very knowledgeable of Federal, Provincial and
Municipal regulations and have strong computer skills. Valid driver’s
license and vehicle are required as well.
