JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

SFB is recruiting for the following jobs:

Director of Library

Duties and responsibilities:
– Provide leadership and operational management for Library functions and services.
– Ensure integration with educational programs of the College.
– Supervise all professional and technical Library staff.
– Develop and administer Library policies and procedures.
– Develop, deliver and evaluate all services and programs offered by Library.
– Develop and implement the Library’s Strategic Plan in alignment with the SFB Strategic Plan.
– Liaise with other Universities to ensure that Library services are
comprehensive and meet SFB needs.
– Evaluate existing services and balance current demands against emerging needs within the framework of available resources.
– Initiate, develop and promote an expanded instructional role for the Library that will provide our learners with the skills required to make effective use of technology and critically evaluate information sources.
– Initiate, plan and facilitate effective Library facilities development and expansion, including updated Learning Commons facilities, in order to support SFB wide changes and development for the Library.
– Establish and maintain productive and cooperative working relationships with Universities, faculty, staff, students and SFB departments.
– participate in the meetings of the bodies of SFB, particularly the academic senate and executive council
– carry out any tasks as assigned by the school administration
– Prepare plans to equip and update school library resourceful text books
– Initiate innovative ideas on how to have library on international standards.

Required minimum:
Bachelor’s degree in Library or Information sciences with at least 3 years of experience in Library management..
